Who are we?
I'm Justin Werner, Publisher of Lincoln City Homepage (NEWS) and owner of Werner Host, a web hosting/cyber security company. I care about the City of Lincoln City and all its fine citizens, so I made this social network with privacy and security in mind. In the 15 years I have been in business, nobody has ever been breached due to my relentless pursuit to be the best ethical hacker I know. That means I use my talents for good :)
What information do we collect?
I need to collect names, addresses, user names, etc. and this is done so the website will operate. It's how you can follow people and so the server can remember what you posted and who you are. Totally necessary.
I'll keep this simple. Your information is protected 100 percent better than Facebook, who sells your data to whoever can come up with enough cash for it. I'll never sell anyone's personal information ever. Not even under the threat of death. I take it that serious.
How do we use personal information?
Personalisation of content, business information or user experience,
Account set up and administration,
Internal research and development purposes,
Legal obligations (eg prevention of fraud),
Meeting internal audit requirements.
Again. Your information is safer with us then anybody else because I'm looking at the server right now and "they" have to physically get past me to get to it.
What legal basis do we have for processing your personal data?
GDPR says there are six possible legal grounds:
None of which really apply to this website but with the new requirements...there you go.
At any time you can email me at admin@lincolncitysocial and say "I want everything about me wiped clean." And I'll do it right then.
When do we share personal data?
Where do we store and process personal data?
Your data is stored in a database at an undisclosed location. I know where it's at but I can't tell you because that would be a security breach. All payments are hosted on trustworthy servers at the PayPal and Stripe companies. Great track records for both of those.
How do we secure personal data?
My approach to data security and the technologies and procedures used to protect personal information are as follows:
to protect data against accidental loss,
to prevent unauthorised access, use, destruction or disclosure,
to ensure business continuity and disaster recovery,
to restrict access to personal information,
to conduct privacy impact assessments in accordance with the law and your business policies,
to train staff and contractors on data security,
to manage third party risks, through use of contracts and security reviews,
Multiple passwords, encryption and retinal scans. Kidding about the latter.
How long do we keep your personal data for?
We only keep what you give us for as long as you have an account. When you go, so does your data. No exceptions.
When you delete your account or ask us to do it, we wipe it from the server and then empty the trash. Gone for good.
Your rights in relation to personal data
Under the GDPR, we must respect the right of data subjects to access and control their personal data. That's why you can access and download your data right from your profile at will.
You can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and request copies of your data and to have it deleted.
